Introduction to the Spanish translation of The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich

The translator explains the stages of her translation of The Night Watchman. She started translating Louise Erdrich with Plague of Doves (2010). She had to do a lot of research beforehand, consulting texts, photographs, music and videos. The novel posed difficulties due either to the sometimes highly technical register or to the symbolism describing various aspects of Chippewa culture.
