The global food system must undergo fundamental changes to ensure food security while respecting the limits of planetary resources. The regional scale offers proximity among actors which a priori facilitates the alignment of sustainable food strategies. This article reviews and compares analytical frameworks capable of articulating food and territory, from four perspectives based on local agri-food production, local food networks, urban food planning, and on the food movement.
