  • Abstract: The interest of contemporary novel in the Insignificant was often underlined by criticism. However, the spiritual meaning of such a choice is rarely brought out. The current article, through Marinus et Marina (1979) by Claude Louis-Combet and Petites scènes capitales (2013) by Sylvie Germain, tries to define the reasons that led these writers to references on Christian mystic, which stresses self-abnegation, in order to build the story, conceive the fiction and reflect on the writer’s figure.
