L’acte diplomatique comme « preuve » dans l’écriture de l’histoire au travers de deux cas hispaniques
L’Historia Compostellana et le Corpus Pelagianum

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: L’Écriture de l’histoire au Moyen Âge. Contraintes génériques, contraintes documentaires
  • Author: Sirantoine (Hélène)
  • Abstract: This article analyses the value given to the diplomatic act with regard to historiographic writing, using two Hispanic examples: the Historia Compostellana, a historical narrative about the episcopal seat of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle and the Corpus Pelagianum, a historiographic compilation realised by or at the request of the Bishop of Oviedo. These texts reveal a different conception of the status and role of the archival document in historiographic writing.
