Trois mariages et une trilogie

This study shows that if each play of the trilogy stages either the celebration or the imminence of a marriage, it is never a question of a love marriage. The relationships between the ­conjugal bond and desire and its fragility are examined here, as well as the legal, even economic, aspects of marriage as well as ­Beaumarchais’s elaboration of a new familial model.
