Abstract: This study shows that if each play of the trilogy stages either the celebration or the imminence of a marriage, it is never a question of a love marriage. The relationships between the conjugal bond and desire and its fragility are examined here, as well as the legal, even economic, aspects of marriage as well as Beaumarchais’s elaboration of a new familial model.
