Hell in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century dictionaries Imaginary and representation

Between the said and the unspoken of the texts of the dictionaries of the Ancien Régime, slips an implicit form of cultural expression and a part of the imaginary referring to the collective unconscious when we study death and the universe of its literary, artistic and religious representations, hell and hells. Hell involves religion and belief in another world after death: Pagan and Christian heritages coexist, sometimes in the same article, with interesting plural or singular usage!
