The Emergence of the Role of the Editor of Shoah (1985) in the Public Space 1973–2022

The film editor’s role and the importance of editing in the conception of Shoah (1985) remained almost absent from the discourses held in the public space for a period of thirty years (1985-2018). By crossing film genetics and discourse analyses, this paper examines the place occupied by this issue since 2018. To this end, it looks back at the making of C. Hébert’s documentary, Ziva Postec, the editor behind the film Shoah (2018), of which the author of these lines was the historical advisor and a protagonist.
