La Vita Nuova, written following the death of Beatrice, recounts Dante’s childhood encounter with a miraculous woman, whom he would meet again at the end of his teenage years and to whom he would devote an absolute love. Made up of poems and prose narratives, this work is the manifesto of the “dolce stil novo.”
