Since Verlaine, critics have noticed a division in Les Amours jaunes between a Parisian and a Breton Corbière. This study analyses this contrast and more particularly examines the central position of “Raccrocs” in the volume, as well as the cycle of Italian poems which form a part of it. This analysis suggests that, in addition to the Breton and Parisian identities, it is necessary to recognize the influence of an Italian Corbière on the volume.
