Inès de Las Sierras is one of Nodier’s most translated tales in Spanish, but it is also the only one that is supposed to take place on Spanish soil. We will try to compare some of the most striking translations from a number of different perspectives: the paratext (title and illustrations), the historical-political context (the occupation of Catalonia by the French army), and the treatment of the fantastic.
