Un shtetl recounts a revolution that took place in 1905 in a Jewish village south of Warsaw. Characterized by uncompromising realism and a somber lyricism, the story was praised when it appeared in 1910, but then forgotten, along with its author. This unusual text is translated by Jean Spector and introduced by Piotr Laskowski.
