After an exploration of the most outstanding examples of research already carried out in the field of literature and law studies, we turn to Carlo Goldoni. His case is characterized by significant traces left by his legal experience – he was a lawyer – in the milieu of theatrical writing. This fact emerges from a selective analysis of the playwright’s comedies, which are characterized by legal themes, characters, language and rhetoric in all phases of his career.
