Pedagogue intellectuals facing public opinion in the eighteenth century

This article aims to add a relatively little-known moment to historiography and literary history, one formed by the dialectic that female intellectuals established with public opinion in the second half of the eighteenth century. The dialogue focuses, on the one hand, on the moral and social stakes conveyed by the discourse on education and, on the other hand, on the moral stakes represented by a political reformation of European governments and, in particular, of the French monarchy.
