In Une paix à vivre, the figure of the teacher points to the construction of characters based on several elements considered fundamental matters to make the story work. These elements, which are inherent to every human being, occupy a large place in the novel. But one thing is clear: their profession is an element before which the characters remain powerless. The vast majority appear to be devastated and misunderstood by a disenchanted youth without hope.
