The hypostatization of poetic occasionalisms in children's literature, or, is lexical innovation enough to establish the existence of a fictional entity?

In literature, lexical innovations are ad hoc formations which differ from neologisms. Called poetic occasionalisms, they have various functions in the text. This article analyses their conceptual function – which is also known as hypostatization – in the context of children’s literature, and shows how lexical innovations allow a reader to lay hold of a fictional reality.
