Fouad Laroui’s migrant literature An interculturality between history and memory

Based on readings of Fouad Laroui, Une année chez les Français, Julliard, 2010, and La vieille dame du riad, Julliard, 2011, we consider the concept of an interculturality that is designated, intersectional, and plural. Through the culture shock experienced by the heroes of his works, Fouad Laroui presents the role of school, literature, and acculturation as being constitutive of a decentered identity, while developing a post-colonial discourse.
