Houellebecq pastiché et canonisé

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Lectures croisées de l’œuvre de Michel Houellebecq
  • Author: Estier (Samuel)
  • Abstract: Pastiches of Houellebecq, less motivated by a search of the formal mimicry than by a desire to lampoon, are illustrative and caricature for his presupposed lack of style. By contrast the dictionaries of quotations highlight the aphoristic aspect of this style and contribute thereby to register the author in the canon. The first degree and poetry are the poor relations of this reception including access to literariness delayed and continues to divide.
