La Grande Guerre dans l’imaginaire maghrébin
Trois œuvres d’expression française et leur destinée

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: La Grande Guerre des écrivains : études
  • Author: Dugas (Guy)
  • Abstract: The Empire provided over 600, 000 combatants during the Great War, more than half from North Africa. If the bât’ d’Af are abundantly present in colonial literature, the colonised imaginary has retained little of the 14-18 episode, and, where it has, it is presented in a largely negative way. These three works speak of the suspicion weighing on any testimonial relating to the Great War in the Maghreb.
