In La Reine Albemarle ou le dernier touriste, Sartre, through his love for Italy, reflects on the advent of mass tourism. A utopia goes hand in hand with this recent phenomenon: travel, he claims, promotes the brotherhood of the peoples. Conversely, Sartre sees tourism as a bellicose and invasive practice.
