Ut cinema poesis Paradoxes and convergences cinema/poetry in the silent era

During 1910s and 1920s in France, a large number of poets praised and encouraged cinema, and they sometimes went so far as to see in it the future of poetry. This study is an opportunity to understand the particular status of poetry, then in a period of change, with respect to cinema, as well as the influence poetry may have had as a theoretical model.
