There is an alchemical connection between the text of the writer and that of the reader, between the sender and the receiver. In fine, there are as many avatars for a text as there are meanings. The reader thereby participates in the updating of the text. The translator is a particular type of reader who has to take into account the polysemic natutre of reception and re-creation. The three intentions, intentio auctoris, intentio operis and intentio lectoris – and their pitfalls – are thereby woven into the final text.
