Éthique aristotélicienne et éthique camusienne
Penser la mesure

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Camus et l’éthique
  • Author: Kleltz-Drapeau (Françoise)
  • Abstract: This contribution connects Camus’ favoured notion of “measure” to Aristotle’s famous reflections on the “just measure”. The Greek philosopher conceptualised the latter, defined as “mésotès”, by referring to two values of critical importance for the Nobel Prize laureate : “justice” and the refusal of excess. These are the pillars of what Camus will come to name the “Pensée de midi”, which encourages a consideration of the risks that any society runs, all the more so in times of crisis.
