Lautréamont's name was introduced to China by the poet Dai Wangshu, a friend and translator of Jules Supervielle, through whom he discovered Les Chants de Maldoror. Dai Wangshu was passionate about French culture, paid attention to current literary matters, and presented Ducasse as one of his favorite poets.
