A detailed analysis of the events of Choix des élues (1939) will clarify not only those details that indicate Giraudoux’s interest in the new art of film, but also the points of contact with his two film scripts. These analogies shed light on the obstinacy with which Jean Giraudoux asserted the power of the writer as a legitimate contributor to the ennoblement of cinema, to which he offered, just before leaving us, a precious contribution.
