Neology and synonym variation of the silk dyeing colour terms. A diachronical approach

This study aims to examine the diachronic dimension of the colour terms associated with silk dyeing from the second half of the 18th century to the first half of the 19th century. Some cases of neology and synonymic variation are analysed and some specialised encyclopaedic dictionaries and language dictionaries are also examined to observe the treatment and the evolution of colour terms over that time.
