Paradox is a difficult linguistic concept to define because of its proximity to, among others, antinomy, oxymoron or contradiction, and of its use in several knowledge ranges and their contextualization. The understanding of its epistemology is complicated by its numerous functions. However, it is essential to language use by allowing us to express our finiteness and desire of eternity as well as the contrasted truths of our world.
