Many role-playing games obey a structure inherited from adventure novels. The Adventure/misadventures schema, mainly established by Matthieu Letourneux, which underscores the episodic construction of an Adventure, is found in the main quest/secondary quests structure of Dragon Age: Origins. A quantitative analysis of the narrative structure and the lexicon of Dragon Age: Origins lets us highlight the influence of the adventure novel on RPGs.
