On the eve of the 1980s, how did the Oulipians conceptualize a computer aesthetics of the novel? To reconstruct the history of Oulipian protohypertextualities, this article examines the practices of remediatization that transformed paper devices into digital devices during the 1970s, while making the medium of paper the site where algorithmic experiments were disseminated.
