What visions does Barres have of Nerval’s Orient? What is the place of Nerval in his own journey to the East? Barrès changed his approach, after having read the essay written by Aristide Marie, and became more careful to the religious perspective and to the chapters about Lebanon and Syria. He is at the head of two readings: one minimises the travel in the East and prefers the novels which take place in Valois; the other makes his Nervalian pilgrimage in the Middle East.
