“A thought of poetry” The “stylistic forms” of the sixteenth century and the poetics of Nerval’s odelets

With the name of odelette, it’s not a poetic form that Nerval takes from Ronsard, but a “forme de style”: ways of writing that reveal a world-view and a way of representing it. Without amplification nor narrative, every poems contains à “poetic thought”, sensible experience vividly described that opens an heterotopic world (nature or fantastic vision). Rejection of the real world, the happy daydream is next to death.
