André Suarès’s poetic work is both abundant and varied but his poems represent the neglected part of his vast literary production. Over his sixty years of literary creation, he started writing forty collections of poems. However, only ten were published during his lifetime. Suarès was driven by a constant desire of renewal and found inspiration in poetic forms coming from various horizons. He developed a cultural syncretism in a poetic work characterized by a constant metaphysical anxiety.
