“We are not saying that women should only study women” Jeanine Moulin and the history of feminine poetry

Between 1963 and 1975, Editions Seghers published three anthologies of women’s poetry selected by the Belgian poet and critic Jeanine Moulin, which she studied through the lens of “feminine writing” and “feminitude”, based on a differentialist reading. Faced with the difficulty of reconciling her feminist commitments with the desire to keep her subject at a distance, she pondered her own stance as a literary historian.
