Michel-Jean Sedaine was one of the eighteenth century’s connoisseurs of Shakespeare, and he was driven by a true desire for the renewal and hybridization of genres. Yet his aesthetic and poetic narrative influence has been little explored. This article aims to describe, analyze, and even define the true nature of this form of Shakespearianism.
