Play or die – study of Queue de poisson (1885)

Queue de poisson: a short story that does not fit with the rest of her novelistic work because Rachilde uses a comic writing style. The intention is to examine comic and ironic effects and the position of laughter, finally, on the presence of a feminine omniscient narrator. In addition to focusing on the character of Régia, who constitutes an embryonic form of Rachilde’s archetype of strong heroines, this duet of voices will also be considered as an oblique discourse with a feminist aim.
