Madame Adonis appears to be a decadent fairy tale: a modern Cinderella, a cantankerous stepmother and a Prince(ss) Charming or the big bad wolf. This text presents two love triangles: an incestuous one between the husband, his mother and his wife, and a second between the husband, the wife and the lover-mistress. However, this fairytale concludes with a traditional moral: Louis and Louise lived happily ever after, their love being strengthened and the obstacle to their happiness forever gone.
