In the shadow of the Commune Snippets of Rimbaldian disenchantment in the Illuminations

Contrary to the earlier poems, the Commune has been swallowed in the Illuminations and it becomes relevant for the critic, in this half-light, to investigate any details that could bring out its presence. This study is not offering to its reader an overview of the Commune motif in the Illuminations, but stop on three places of the collection – “Ouvriers”, “Dévotion” and “Barbare”.
