This article analyzes the discursive dynamics associated with the emergence of a “neonymic feeling” and a “metaphorical feeling” through the study of a corpus of specialized online interactions. The aim is to verify whether, from the phase of individual invention (using metaphor) to the validation phase of neonyms as specialized terms, the metaphorical nature of new terms can have an impact on their validation and their acceptance within the community that uses them.
