Au même goût de sel The migration crisis as told by Larbi Ramdani

This contribution highlights the representation of the refugee crisis in al-‘Arabī Ramadānī’s novel Anāšīd al-milḥ and shows how the author becomes the bearer of a new critical commitment, advocating the universality of the right to protection and freedom of movement. By bringing together two figures, the illegal immigrant and the asylum seeker, he manages to dismantle the myth of the one-dimensional economic migrant and the distortions of the humanitarian system.
