Carco and the sweet chanson The paradox of M’sieur Francis

The work of Francis Carco would not be complete without the songs that were based on his poems or whose text he wrote directly. This article tries to explore this territory neglected by criticism. Carco was not only the heir but also the rehabilitator of a certain tradition of the French realist chanson, which is shown by the numerous interpreters who sang him, he being someone who knew the genre intimately, having himself been a singer during his youth as well as when he was older.
