La Nef des dames vertueuses (1503) by Symphorien Champier, a Lyon humanist and physician, is a “feminist apologia” consisting of four books: a collection of biographies of famous women, a treatise on marriage, a study of the prophecies of the sibyls, and an essay on Platonic love.
