H. Pagan shows how difficult it is to define the Anglo-Norman Prose Brut. The chronicle contained in the Cambridge, University Library, Dd. 10.32 manuscript is a fitting example of this issue, since it is, for several reasons, a hybrid composition that was probably compiled in the 14th century.
