This article briefly reviews the farcical intertextuality in Rabelais’s work through the precise analysis of three examples: the analogy between a grizzled Panurge and the leek in the Tiers livre (XXVIII, the expression “passer coquillon” in Pantagruel (V), and the détournement of the locution “faute vaut quinze” in the Tiers livre (XI).
