Gargantua is framed in a very elaborate way. Via formal description seeking to underline its boldness and inventiveness, this work proposes to see in this a defense and illustration of “the open work,” allowing not only the construction of an aesthetic manifesto, but also potentially compelling the reader to put this aesthetic into practice by taking - while laughing! - responsibility for an interpretation that transforms it.
