This article traces the use, scope, and meanings of the marks used by Rabelais when editing texts. To date we have thirty-one editions with the motto ἀγαθῇ τύχῃ (Good Fortune) or an ivy crown with the complete motto ΤΥΧΗ ΑΓΑΘΗ ΞΥΝ ΘΕΩ (Good Fortune with God). These were published in Lyon by Sébastien Gryphe, François Juste, and Pierre de Sainte-Lucie between 1532 and 1558. The article also presents the contributions to Rabelais éditeur des Anciens et des Modernes.
