This study invites the reader to journey through the œuvre of Jean-Claude Pirotte in its creases and folds, like a “suite of scaffolding”, “leaks and regrets” – to follow the veins of this dented writing through places and over days, at the whim of the escapes and hazards of a blackballed life. In this way, a sad and melancholic irony, mythomania, and the hounded freedom of a cornered man forcing himself to “flee forever to escape his demons” spring out at us.
