The “Copione” of Adelaide Ristori’s False Confidenze (1856) An Exceptional Testimony to the Creative Process in the Days of the Great Actors

This study tries to find traces to reconstruct the creative process of a great Italian theatre star: Adelaide Ristori. The main document, which is examined, is a brochure found in the archives of the Museo-Biblioteca ­dell’Attore, which shows that the text of the Italian translation of ­Marivaux’s Fausses ­confidences was amended, translated and adapted for staging by Ristori.
