A Two-Handed Creation in 19th-Century Polish Theatre

This article examines the idea of collective work among actors in the 19^th century. It presents three forms of collaboration common at the time: the acting lesson, the axiological duo and a more complex form, called przechodzenie roli z kimś (to “absorb” the role with the help of a partner). The creative process required collaboration with a partner and was accompanied by physical activities (conversations, walks, physical exercises, writing).
