Although homosexual characters abound in Sartre's fictions, studies devoted to Sartre’s thinking about homosexuality are rare, often limited to criticisms of the article “Qu’est-ce qu’un collaborateur?” or a constructivist reading of Saint Genet. But Sartre’s more questionable statements about homosexuality are nuanced in his fiction, which seems to maintain a dialogue with the Proustian, Gidean and Beauvoirian representations of homosexuality.
