Digital, the supreme stage of fossil capitalism? The material basis of platforms, between continuities and new antagonisms

The article proposes an articulation of the reflections around the digital and the Capitalocene. Noting the environmental cost of digital technologies does not exhaust the analysis, because the digitization of the economy does not only increase the environmental effects of capitalism, it also re-articulates its points of tension. It is in this sense that the advent of platforms is part of fossil capitalism while constituting a new stage in it.
